An Enmeshed Tale - Deep in the Heart of Texas

A treat from our popular guest blogger Mai-Liis Peacock

How can scorpions and mixed media art possibly relate?  Scorpion
This is an easy question for any mixed media artist, but not so for anyone else.

As a California transplant recently moved to the Austin, TX area I was warned about "bugs"...and, indeed, I discovered that all of my neighbors are visited by a variety of exterminating companies on a rather regular basis.  I decided that I would do no such thing!  I'll take bugs over poisons any day, thank you very much.

Creative Mavens - Retreats

Soul Creative Retreats, held in Desert Hot Springs outside Palm Springs California have a number of very tempting treats on the menu in the upcoming months.

Swoon! I'll admit that I'd love to get a ticket with the name: Susan Reynolds on it! Heart3

Here's what they say about themselves (which sounds like heaven to me):

SOUL CREATIVE RETREATS encourage you to take nurturing time for yourself. We believe that you should take quiet time and space for renewing your creative spirit. We offer insightful, empowering life tools through experiential hands-on exercises throughout the Retreat.

We wrap you in a cocoon of loving, friendly, supportive creative nurturing. After your exciting creative days, we invite you to join in for relaxing yoga, guided meditations or soak in the healing mineral waters exclusive to Desert Hot Springs.

Or, you may choose to book your own private bodywork therapy session at Miracle Springs Resort and Spa which includes choices of massage, facials, body polishes, aromatherapy, and more.

Maybe we should bring the Mavens who run this retreat to our Artsy Asylum, even if it's only in a virtual sense.
